I am back again with a food shortcut to the rescue! Like many of you, most of my mornings are on the go and breakfast is usually eaten at work. I like to prep most of my meals in the evening to save on time and some meals are just not as good made the night before. Enter hot oatmeal. I love overnight oats but warm oatmeal’s consistency is a big factor to me that gets crazy if it is not prepared shortly before you eat it.
I am all for convenience. I do occasionally buy prepared oatmeal packets but I do prefer to make my own. It is often healthier, tastier, and suited to what flavors I like. I can easily make many oatmeal breakfasts from the comfort of my kitchen in about 15 minutes and all I need is baggies and measuring utensils! Sit back friends! I will show you how to easily make your own customized oatmeal on the go packets!
All you need:
- 1/3 cup Oats
- 1 T Ground Flax
- 1 tsp Chia Seeds
- Sprinkle of Cinnamon
- (Whatever other seasonings you prefer; sometimes I like nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice!):
You really don’t miss the added sugars and other crap that often ends up in prepared oatmeal packets at all!! If you feel like you need more sweetness you can add honey or some stevia! Now, sit back and revel in the convenience of your premade oatmeal packets and enjoy the extra time to sip your coffee in the mornings!!
